The clean up continues for 50 barrels of crude oil that spilled over the weekend in Angelina County. According to a media representative from the Texas Railroad Commission, a leak at the Sunoco Logistics Pipeline pump station caused the spill. The accident happened on FM 1818 off of highway 58. The media rep says the company reported the spill on Saturday, after they were alerted by a neighbor. The Sunoco operator said they have cleaned up all the free standing fluid, and are in the process of cleaning the soil that was impacted. They have sent a rep from the Railroad Commission to monitor the clean-up. We are told no water by the pipeline has been impacted. Any spill of five barrels or more, must be reported.
