Lilly Maurice "Buppy" Miles

Lilly Maurice "Buppy" Miles, 84, of Lufkin, was born May 25, 1923, in Cherokee County, Texas, the daughter of the late Sudie Mae (Bevill) and William George Dewey Solley. She passed away Sunday, January 6, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Miles was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as a receptionist for Dr. H. L. Hughey and as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Miles of Lufkin; daughter, Suzanne Crawford of The Colony; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jeanie Miles of Lufkin; grandchildren, Corey William Crawford of Richardson, Jason Brent Crawford of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Ryan Taylor Crawford of Quincy, Massachusetts, Julie Ann Miles of Lufkin and Christopher Noland Miles of Lufkin; special niece, Patty Bridges, special friend, Betty Krajna; and a number of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Corey Crawford, Jason Crawford, Ryan Crawford, Noland Miles, Jason McKown, Phillip Watson and her Only Granddaughter, Julie Miles.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Lenin Pinnamaneni, Kirby Ward, "J.J." Flores, Scott Fenley and Carl Bridges.

Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Miles' memory may be made to the Arthur Temple, Sr. Regional Cancer Center, 1201 Frank, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the following physicians: Dr. Sid Roberts and his assistant Brenda Holbert, Drs. Evans, Kistler, Benitez, Pietersen, Odero, Spore, Kahn, Malladi, Capellan, Park, and to Memorial Medical Center's ER and ICU staff.

Services for Mrs. Miles will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend C. G. "Buster" Grigg and Reverend Bobby Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Arnold Cemetery in the Forest Community.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
