James Taylor Crawford
Funeral services for James Taylor Crawford, 82, of Lufkin will be held Friday, January 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Johnson Cemetery in Centralia.
Mr. Crawford was born June 5, 1925 in Etoile, Texas to the late Belle (Mays) and Jimmie D. Crawford, and died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 in a local nursing home.
Mr. Crawford resided in the Marion Ferry Community most of his life. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force, and drove a truck for various trucking companies for many years. Mr. Crawford was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Onnie Dee Crawford of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Bennett Ray McMullen of Centralia; grandson, Brandon McMullen of Centralia; granddaughter, Crystal McMullen of Madisonville; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Martha Crawford of Lufkin; son, James M. Crawford of Huntington; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Deidra and Wendell Turner of Wells; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Trent and Mecca Crawford of Huntington; granddaughter, Pam Crawford of Lufkin; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kathy and Mike Husband of Arizona; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brandon McMullen, Bradley McMullen, Wendell Turner, Mark Jacob, Corey Lemons and Richard Tullos.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Thornton, Gene Havard and Giles Lowery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 S. Raguet St., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
