Funeral services for Don D. Hearne, 75, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Andy Pittman and Reverend Aubrey Knox officiating. Interment will follow in the Glendale Cemetery.

Don was born March 17, 1932 in the Belote Community, Houston County, Texas to Blanche (Pentecost) and Carlos H. Hearne, and died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at his residence.

Don had resided in Lufkin since 1946. He graduated from Lufkin High School in 1949, and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1957, and was a Certified Life Underwriter. Don was a deacon and taught Sunday school for many years at Lufkin's First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Hearne of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, D. David and Cheryl Hearne of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Cary Deal of Lufkin and Karen and Lyn Davis of Longview; grandchildren, Brianne Deal Carbery and husband Mike of Spring, Cody Deal of Texarkana, Jennifer Davis  Vansau and husband Rocky of Lufkin, Trey Hearne of Lufkin, Christopher Davis of Longview and Courtney Elizabeth Hearne of Lufkin; brother, Herman Hearne of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hearne of Corrigan; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Lynn Hicks of Spring.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Leo Hearne and Elmo Hearne.

Pallbearers will be Trey Hearne, Cody Deal, Christopher Davis, Walter Still, Jim Massingill, Bill Woodward, Newt Courtney and Buford Abeldt.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lufkin's First Baptist Church, 106 E. Bremond Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901, Lufkin High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 150837, Lufkin, Texas 75915, or Hospice in the Pines, 116 S. Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
