Lufkin Police Report - 1/15/08

ROBBERY/AGGRAVATED: 1800 BLOCK OF SAYERS. Two women reported that they were robbed at gunpoint as they walked to their car around 10:48pm Monday night.  The suspect pointed a gun at them and demanded their money and valuables.  The suspect, described as a black male in his late teens or early twenties wearing a heavy black coat fled on foot with one of the women's cell phone.  The victims were not injured.

BURGLARY/VEHICLE: 2400 BLOCK OF SOUTH FIRST. Complainant reported that his car window was broken out and an IPOD stolen from his car sometime Monday evening.

THEFT/B: 200 BLOCK OF NORTH TIMBERLAND DRIVE. Complainant reported that a known suspect made several large purchases of beer and cigarettes over the weekend, each time writing a check on an account that was later found to be closed.

THEFT/B: 2500 BLOCK OF WEST FRANK AVENUE. Complainant reported that an out of state collection agency withdrew funds from her account after the debt had been paid off.  The agency admitted a mistake and said they would refund the money over a month ago.  Despite repeated promises to refund the money and several passed deadlines the agency hasn't yet refunded the money.

BURGLARY/ATTEMPT: 100 BLOCK OF SOUTH RAGUET STREET. Complainant reported that a door to his building had been kicked and beat with a brick in an apparent attempt to break in the building over the weekend.

THEFT/FELONY: ELLEN TROUT DRIVE. The phone company reported that approximately 400 feet of phone line was cut from the top of utility poles sometime Sunday night.  The lines were in use at the time, knocking out phone and internet service to some areas.

BURGLARY/BUILDING: 700 BLOCK OF LUBBOCK STREET. Complainant reported that unknown suspects broke into the walk-in freezer at Hackney Primary School and stole several boxes of food over the weekend.
