Joyce Marie Stivers
Funeral services for Joyce Marie Stivers, 62, of Huntington will be held Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Keith Woolf officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery.
Mrs. Stivers was born July 17, 1945 in Freemont, Nebraska, to the late Mae (Fendrick) and Adolph Renter, and died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Stivers was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and had many friends. She married Willie Stivers on November 15, 196 in Waterloo, Nebraska, and they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. Mrs. Stivers loved to hunt, fish, play bingo and spend money on her grandchildren. She retired from Wal-Mart, and was a D.A.V. Auxiliary member.
Survivors include her husband, Willie Stivers of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Thurman Lasyone of Huntington, Shelly and Daniel Pitre of Corrigan and Sherry and Danny Berry of Huntington; grandchildren, Richard Clayton Weaver of Lufkin, Riley Rawlinson, Jacee Berry and Royce Berry, all of Huntington, Jake Pitre and Danielle Pitre, both of Corrigan; four sisters and two brothers, all of Valley, Nebraska; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Pitre, Danny Berry, John Oliver, Thurman Lasyone, Willie Ricks and Dan Renter.
Honorary pallbearers will be D.A.V. Auxiliary members, Tommy Oliver, Richard Weaver, James Davis, Jimmy Brooks, Dr. Gary Randall, Joe Dunn, Steve Childress, Curtis Grisham, Robert Hunt and Tony Murry.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
