Lufkin Police Report - 1/28/08

THEFT: 2400 BLOCK OF SPENCE STREET. Officers responding to a burglar alarm just before 9pm Sunday night found where a large phone line had been cut in the area.  The phone line was apparently cut and taken to be sold for scrap copper.

***  In addition to any reward paid by Crime Stoppers on these ongoing felony thefts of wire, Consolidated Communications is offering a separate  reward of $2500 for information that leads to an arrest in this series of  thefts of these in-use telephone lines.  

HARASSMENT: 3500 BLOCK OF NORTH JOHN REDDITT DRIVE. Complainant reported receiving repeated, threatening phone calls from her ex-husband.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE: ANGELINA STREET. Complainant reported that his white Dodge Stratus was stolen from a parking lot Sunday.  When he returned to the lot the car was gone and broken window glass was found on the ground.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 300 BLOCK OF NORTH TIMBERLAND. Complainant reported some blankets and a pillow missing from a motel room after the person who rented it Saturday night left.  The microwave, hair dryer, headboard and television were also damaged or destroyed.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 600 BLOCK OF BRENTWOOD DRIVE. Complainant reported that her mailbox was knocked off the post Sunday.

BURGLARY: 200 BLOCK OF JACK. Complainant reported that he was awakened Sunday morning by an alarm at his residence.  He went outside and found a man beside his house.  The man left quickly and the complainant then found where the man had broken into an outside storage building.  The complainant didn't note anything missing at the time of the report.

BURGLARY/BUILDING: 2900 BLOCK OF SOUTH JOHN REDDITT DRIVE. Officers responding to an active burglary alarm Sunday morning found a broken glass door and display case at the business.  Several laptop computers were stolen.
