Buren E. Chandler
Funeral services for Buren E. Chandler, 90, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryan Lipscomb and Brother David Culp officiating. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
Mr. Chandler was born December 16, 1917 in Shelby County, Texas to the late Cora M. (Head) and David Wesley Chandler, and died Saturday, January 26, 2008 in a local hospital.
A former resident of Center, Mr. Chandler had resided in Lufkin for the past 30 years. He loved fishing and playing dominoes, and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spoiling his grandchildren. Mr. Chandler was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Olean Chandler of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Ethelda "Scooter" and Chester Davis of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Wanda and Randy Baggett, Jo and Dale Manthey, Christi Chandler, Randy Davis and David and Lesa Chandler; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Delton Chandler; brothers, Avery and Chester Chandler; and sister, Melba Miceli.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Providence Baptist Church.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
