A Season of Change

by Coleman Swierc

As the 2008 high school baseball season comes into focus, one team with questions still unanswered are the Central Bulldogs.  With a brand new ballpark, the Bulldogs are ready for a repeat of last years playoff run.  But they'll have to do so with a brand new team.  The Bulldogs will return only three varsity players from last year.

"We lost everybody," First year head coach Byran Finch says.  "We have one pitcher coming back.  He pitched very little for us on varsity last year."

"I know that when it comes to being a freshman," Logan Fugate says.  "Coming on to the varsity,it is going to be hard your first year.  But you just have help them up and keep them going."

Don't underestimate the bulldogs youth.  As the old saying goes, the talent will rise to the top.

"We have all the youth coming in," Finch says.  "And everybody is fighting for a job, the competitiveness has stepped things up for us."

One of the best characteristics is that they don't recognize fear.  The bulldogs youth have their eyes on the prize.

"All I want to do is beat Hudson," Dakota Nerren says.
