Funeral services for Thelma Harrison O'Quinn, 84, of Wells will be held Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Owen officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Eden Cemetery on FM 225 in Nacogdoches County.
Mrs. O'Quinn was born August 27, 1923 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Stricklen) and Presley Harrison, and died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in a Houston hospital.
Mrs. O'Quinn owned and operated the Wells Drive-In for many years, and worked in the nursing field from 1979 thru 1993 in various nursing homes. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Wells. Mrs. O'Quinn loved people and enjoyed spending time with her family, who she dearly loved, and her friends.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Clara and Bill Skinner of Nacogdoches, Alea and Billy Clemons of Caldwell and Alicia and Frank Kuhnke of Ashdown, Arkansas; son, Thomas E. O'Quinn, Jr. of Drummond, Montana; son and daughter-in-law, William and Theressa O'Quinn of Central; son, Justin O'Quinn, currently serving in Iraq; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; niece, Margaret Culver of Camden, Arkansas; nephew, Gary Ryker of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl O'Quinn, Sr.; grandson, Stephen Selman, Jr.; and sister, Norma Ryker.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. O'Quinn's grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Solid Rock Family Church, 3476 Highway 103 W, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
