Charlie Goodwin, 58, of Crystal Beach, was born February 12, 1949, in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Mertie (Dunn) and Wallace Noah Goodwin. He passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008, at his residence.
Charlie was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was employed with Gulf Coast Erectors as a heavy steel construction supervisor for 10 years, and loved his work. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a die hard Astros and Cowboys fan.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Goodwin of Crystal Beach; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Phillip and Jennifer Goodwin of Ft. Worth; daughter, Chandra Kastelic of Forney; grandchildren, Dylan Kastelic, Dallas Kastelic, Darby Kastelic, Hailey Goodwin, Gentry Raven, Gabrielle Raven, Bryce Martel, Miles Martel, Tyler Pellerin and Ethan Pellerin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and James K. Conner, Nancy and Jerry Ivie, all of Lufkin, Mattie and Roy Terry of Winnie; sister, Brenda Hartt of Nacogdoches; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Keith Wallace Goodwin.
Services for Charlie will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Gipson Funeral Home.
