Funeral services for Katherine Ida Haak Palmore, 78, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.

Mrs. Palmore was born July 11, 1929 in Sealy, Texas to Walter Haak and Estelle (Thompson) Haak, and died Sunday, February 3, 2008 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Palmore had resided in Lufkin for most of her life. She was involved in church for over 40 years where she taught Sunday School, Children's Church, Young Ladies Class, Outreach and WMU. Mrs. Palmore was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Robert V. Palmore of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Melody Palmore of Lufkin and Mark D. and J'na Palmore of Pollok; two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Cole Palmore; sisters-in-law, Velma Dee Modisette of Pollok, Jalaane (Haak) Orth of Houston and Georgia Helen Palmore of Lufkin; a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Estelle (Thompson) Haak; brothers, Sonny and Robert Haak; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Palmore; sister-in-law and husband, Donnie and W. H. Julian; brothers-in-law, Ralph and Raleigh Palmore.

Pallbearers will be the men of Grace Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 8319 FM 2021, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
