Linnie Elizabeth Alison
Linnie Elizabeth Alison, 98, of Lufkin, was born May 6, 1909, in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Charlotta (McKinney) and Amicee Jones. She passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Alison was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Alison was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Maggie Koon of Lufkin; daughter-in-law, Peggy Alison of Sugar Land; granddaughters, Lenellen Bunting of Sugar Land and Joellen Stubblefield of Lufkin; grandsons, Mitchell Alison, Martin Alison, both of Sugar Land, and Kenny Koon of Lufkin; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Alison Bond and Mary Alma Fairbairn; and a number of other nieces, nephews and other family members.
Mrs. Alison was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Alison; and son, Louis Alison.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Koon, Martin Alison, Mitchell Alison, Grady Fairbairn, Travis Bunting and Bill Lumpkin.

Services for Mrs. Alison will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Andy Pittman officiating. Eulogy will be offered by Alison Bond. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
