Billie Louise (Stone) Butler

Services for Billie Louise (Stone) Butler, 68, of Alto, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2008, in the Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Bobby King officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells.

Mrs. Butler was born March 16, 1939, in Cherokee County, Texas, the daughter of the late Mary Agnes (Carter) and George William Stone. She passed away Sunday, February 3, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Butler was employed by the Lufkin State School for more than 21 years, and also had worked at Central Independent School District. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and loved her pets. She was of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Junior Horsley of Pollok, Linda and John Currie of Kennard, Teresa and Richard Currie of Wells and Betty and Buford Currie of Kennard; daughter, Ruthie Benson of Hartley; sons, Ronnie Butler of Forest and Earl Butler of Wells; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Shirley Butler and Billy and Tammy Butler, all of Wells; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Viola Edwards, Mary Schuermann, Lola Whittemore, all of Wells, and Becky Lindsey of Alto; dear friend, Turman Butler of Wells; and numerous other family members.

In addition to her parents; Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Butler; and her sister, Marie Higginbotham.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Currie, Joshua Currie, Richard Currie, John Currie, Junior Horsley and Brandon Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Burford Currie and Jonathan Horsley.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home.
