Martha Keeton Terrill, 88, of Lufkin, was born December 17, 1919, in Ft. Worth, Texas, the daughter of the late Joella (Cosby) and Harry Keeton. She passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Terrill was a homemaker, and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She previously worked at Lively Furniture Store. She was a volunteer at the Salvation Army Resale Shop, and was a member of the Sweet Adeline's Singers. She also volunteered at the Lufkin Adult Learning Center, and through her work there, many were taught to read. Mrs. Terrill was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Roby Franklin Terrill and wife Laura of Dallas and Edd Terrill, III and wife Rita of Lufkin; daughter, Theta Davis and husband Ron of Lufkin; daughter, Emily Terrill and good friend Jimmy Childers of Lufkin; sisters, Ruth Botts of Topeka, Kansas and Madie Richter of Houston; brother, Harry Charles Keeton of Dallas; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Mrs. Terrill was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Terrill, Jr., in 1992; four brothers; and one sister.
Services for Mrs. Terrill will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Andy Pittman officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
