Cocoa cola cake

Recipe from Caitlyn Kramer of Batavia, Ohio

Total time: 30-35 min

2 c. unsifted plain flour
2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1 c. Coca-Cola
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows

Icing for Cocoa Cola Cake:

1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. Coca-Cola
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

1.  Sift flour and sugar in bowl. Heat butter, cocoa, and Coca-Cola to boiling point. Pour over sugar mixture.

2.  Add milk, soda, salt, eggs and vanilla.  This will be thin batter with marshmallows floating on top.

3.  Pour into greased and floured cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

4.  Do not mix icing until cake is done.  Heat butter, cocoa, Coca-Cola to boiling point and pour over sugar, nuts, and vanilla. Spread mixture over hot cake.
