Bennie Palmore Neal
Funeral services for Bennie Palmore Neal, 75, of Hudson will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryan Lipscomb officiating. Interment will follow in the Wallace Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Neal was born October 14, 1932 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Viola Vee (Smith) and Robert Oris Palmore, and died Sunday, February 10, 2008 in a local hospital.
A current resident of Hudson, Mrs. Neal had formerly resided in Port Neches for 43 years. She was a homemaker, and was a member of Providence Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday school class. Mrs. Neal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. She always had a smile on her face and never complained. Mrs. Neal was an excellent seamstress and cook, and always had enough food to feed one more.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Jerry Burgess of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Mary Neal of Mount Belvieu; daughter and son-in-law, Trikina and Jim Brown of North Richland Hills; grandchildren and spouses, Brian and LaTisha Burgess, Heather and Tim Newton, Neal and Kellie Burgess, Summer and Aaron Odonley, Katrina Martin, Jeremy Neal, Beck Neal, Travis Neal, Jamey Brown, Madison Brown and Kell Brown; six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Nell Palmore of Port Neches; sister, Barbara Clark of Hudson; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolan Neal; two sisters; and one brother.
Pallbearers will be Brian Burgess, Neal Burgess, Jeremy Neal, Beck Neal, Tim Newton and Ray Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Neal, Jamey Brown, Kell Brown and Garrett Newton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or the Wallace Chapel Cemetery Association, 141 Rebecca Lane, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
