Virginia Moore, 87, of Lufkin, was born July 28, 1920 to Virgie (Moffett) and Robert Julius Schuller, in Lufkin, Texas. She passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Pinecrest Retirement Community.

She was a lifelong resident of Angelina County, Texas. At age 15, she married Lloyd Moore in a secret ceremony. They were married for 40 years before his death in 1976. Mrs. Moore was a member of the First United Methodist Church all of her life and the Leach Sunday School Class. She volunteered many hours for the Methodist Church Bazaars over the years, drove for MHMR patients and many other service duties for her church. She was a member of Eastern Star and was Worthy Matron in 1955. She was one of the first volunteers at Memorial Medical Center and remained faithful to her duties there for 25 years. Mrs. Moore loved to travel, especially to Galveston, where she spent many summers with her special group of friends. She was a member of the Museum of East Texas Guild. She was a homemaker and beloved grandmother.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Carol Moore and Raymond and Carol Moore; grandchildren, Kathey and Alan Moore, Brian Moore, Kelley and David Moore, Mary and Andrew Moore, Erin and Jeffrey Theibert, Melinda and Benjamin Moore; great-grandchildren, Maci Jan Moore, Kimberly Doyle, Abigail Irene Moore, Ben Beaty, Ryan Moore, Hayley Byron and Owen Theibert; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Moore; and daughter-in-law, Jan Moore.

Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Moore's memory may be made to First United Methodist Church, 805 E. Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901; Pinecrest Retirement Community, 1302 Tom Temple, Lufkin, Texas 75901; or St. Cyprian's Episcopal School, 1115 S. John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Connie Thomas, her faithful caregiver, and the staff of Pinecrest Retirement Community, for their loving care for their loved one.

Memorial services for Mrs. Moore will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2008, in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church, with Reverend H. Michael Tyson, II officiating.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
