Funeral services for Earl Ross, 82, of Huntington will be held Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. in the Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ, Huntington,  with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Treadwell Cemetery.

Mr. Ross was born March 10, 1925 in Buna, Texas to James Washington and Mary Mozelle (Hopson) Ross, and died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at his residence. He retired as a carpenter and resided in Huntington most of his life. Mr. Ross was a member of Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Ross of Huntington; daughter, Billie Sue Martin of Colmesneil; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Earl and Rachel Ross of Etoile; son, James Carroll Ross of Colmesneil; daughter, Patricia Waldrep of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Alton Earl and Martha  Ross of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Bobby Martin of Huntington; daughter, Shirley Ross Meadows of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Lynn and Missy Ross of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Hank Williams and Becky Ross of Huntington; daughter, JoAnn Fecteau of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Frances E. and John Collins of Huntington, and Lisa and Kevin Cooper of Huntington; sister, Irma Mozelle Howard of Huntington; 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his grandsons, Richard Wayne Ross and Joey Lynn Ross; great grandson, Gabriel Micheal Burns; son-in-law, Andrew Martin; brothers, William Thomas Ross, James Washington Ross, Jr., Jesse Ross; sisters, Ola Mae Ross Penn and Opal Ross Tanton.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Mr. Ross.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the Shawnee Church.
