Graveside services for Ruth Evelyn Modisette, 84, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fielder Cemetery with Pastor David Craig officiating.
Mrs. Modisette was born December 21, 1923 in Angelina County, Texas, to the late Lila Williams and Tap Holland, and died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Modisette, a lifetime resident of Angelina County, had resided in Edmond, Oklahoma for the past two years. She was a 1941 graduate of Lufkin High School, and retired from Red Ball Motor Freight Lines following 35 years of service as a claims supervisor. Mrs. Modisette was an avid traveler, and had visited 49 states. She was a member of the Luf-To-Go Sam's Travel Club and the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her granddaughters, Danielle Modisette-Murphy and husband Brian of Edmond, Oklahoma, Charisse McGuffin and husband Stacy of Waxahachie and Heather Medders of Eden; great-grandchildren, Ed Murphy, Kendall Murphy, Wyatt McGuffin, Riley Malone and Cole Medders; sister, Billie Modisette of Lufkin; and a number of nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Modisette; and daughter, Phyllis Dhonau.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.
