Nacogdoches Police Report - 2/19/08

THEFT OF FIREARMS: 2100 BLOCK OF FORE STREET. Three handguns were reported stolen from a residence over the past two months.

HIT AND RUN: 4700 BLOCK OF SOUTH STREET. A vehicle fled the scene of an accident and was located by officers. Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver, Daniel Alford, was arrested.

THEFT: 1500 SPOKANE STREET. Complainant reported that unknown persons had taken a black and white Boston Terrier dog.

THEFT: 1200 BLOCK OF MOUND STREET. A money bag containing an undetermined amount of cash and checks was reported stolen over the weekend.

THEFT: 300 BLOCK OF ELLINGTON. Complainant reported some cash stolen from an apartment while having friends over.

FORGERY: 4100 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. Complainant advised that someone had forged a change of address form in an attempt to intercept an insurance check.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE-POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA-ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 2800 BLOCK OF NORTH STREET. Officer on patrol observed a man behind a grocery store. The suspect had a bb pistol in his possession and was wearing sunglasses. He also had a mask in his possession. Officers located the suspect's vehicle and located a small amount of suspected marijuana and a suspected Xanax tablet in the vehicle.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION: 100 BLOCK OF GREENWOOD. Complainant reported a 19" television, a Playstation, a DVD player, and a two dollar bill taken from inside a residence.

FOUND PROPERTY: 400 BLOCK OF MARTHA DRIVE. A resident found a camera bag in his back yard.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS: 100 BLOCK OF OAKHILL PLAZA. Officers located a suspect on the premises that had been given a previous criminal trespass warning. Edward Matthews was arrested.

EVADING ARREST: 400 BLOCK OF HASLEY STREET. Officers had stopped a vehicle on traffic. The passenger exited the vehicle and ran. Joe Pugh was arrested after a short foot chase.
