West Sabine quarterback Calub Brown knew where he wanted to sign three weeks ago. But the Tigers senior was in the middle of basketball season. He wanted to keep his focus on a district championship. It was worth the wait.
A packed West Sabine gym cheered on Brown as he signed with West Texas A&M this afternoon.
"It made me feel real good," Brown says. "It was like I did something great. You rarely ever see this coming out of a small 1A school and everything, so I guess that's why it was so big. It felt good."
The standout quarterback will play division two football, even though he had offers from division one Sam Houston and Northwestern state. Brown may also play basketball at West Texas A&M. He was Tigers leading scorer this past season.
