Peggy Jo (Willis) Goins, 73, lifelong resident of Lufkin, was born October 12, 1934, in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Blanche (Ricks) and William Roy Willis. She passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in an Irving hospital.
Mrs. Goins was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked in the nursing field, having worked for Memorial Hospital and Dr. Jack Wade. Mrs. Goins loved to send cards of encouragement and visit the sick. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and was a Sunday School Teacher and nursery worker for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Ann and Rex Gray of Irving; grandchildren, Wesley and Crystal, Krista and Michael, David, Jonathon; great-grandchildren, Christian, Destiny and Nicholas; and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her husband, Admiral Dewey Goins, Jr.; and her infant son, Robert Goins.
Pallbearers will be Karl Wesley Parker, Jonathon Gray, Michael Rodriguez, Wes Miller, Larry Luster and Ron McMullen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Jones, Charles Kimble and Dr. Kyle Krohn.
Services for Mrs. Goins will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Walter Futch and Rex Gray and Larry Luster officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
