G W Sisson, 67, of Lufkin, was born September 18, 1940, in Trinity County, Texas, the son of the late Sara E. (Tarwater) and W. G. Sisson. He passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in the Houston VA Medical Center.
Mr. Sisson was retired from the Maintenance Department of Lufkin Industries. He was also retired from the United States Navy. Mr. Sisson loved to hunt and fish, and he was an avid reader. He was of the Baptist faith, and had resided in the Lufkin area most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Sisson of Lufkin; sons, Ron Sisson of New Caney, Gary Sisson of Pollok, Richard Sisson and William G. Sisson, both of Lufkin; daughters, Sara B. Burnett of Etoile and Judy Herrington of Lufkin; stepchildren, Cindy Hardin, Kelly Smith, both of Lufkin, and Kevin Berry of Texarkana, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; special friend, Millard Talkington of New Haven, Illinois; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Mr. Sisson in death were Frances Sisson, the mother of his children; his parents; and a sister, Betty Musick.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hardin, Kevin Berry, Dustin Smith, Tony Hall, Gregory Sisson, and Bobby Whisenant. Honorary pallbearer will be Millard Talkington.

Services for Mr. Sisson will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery at Apple Springs.
