Kathryn Kendrick, 90, of Lufkin, was born November 2, 1917, in San Augustine, Texas, the daughter of the late Emma Adell (Cartwright) and Levy Thompson Clark. She passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in a Lufkin hospital.
Mrs. Kendrick was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an extremely talented seamstress. Mrs. Kendrick was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church and had resided in Lufkin most of her life.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Jerry Duty of Beaumont; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Jean Kendrick of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Darin and Marianne Kendrick, Jared and Hayley Kendrick, and Jena and Jason Johnson; and six great grandchildren.
Preceding Mrs. Kendrick in death was her husband, R.O. Kendrick, in 1983.
Pallbearers will be Darin Kendrick, Jared Kendrick, Jason Johnson, and Hubert Williams.
Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Kendrick's memory may be made to the D.C. Miller Scholarship Fund at Lufkin's First Baptist Church, 106 E. Bremond, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
Services for Mrs. Kendrick will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 1:00 p.m. Friday until service time at Gipson Funeral Home.
