Services for Clarence John Branson, 87, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Reverend David Craig and Pastor Franklin Spruiell officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Branson was born May 4, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Elsie (Beotcher) and Clinton Branson. He died Friday, March 7, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Branson was a retired machinist for Saureman Company. He served his county during World War II in the United States Army. Mr. Branson was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Branson of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Wayne and Deborah Branson, Michael John and Kimberly Branson, all of Lufkin; five grandchildren, Mallori, Zachary, Joshua, Scott and Blake; sisters, Evelyn Pierce of Dallas, Betty Haskins and Ellen Taylor, both of California; brother-in-law, John Gordon of West Virginia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon until service time in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel.
