Lufkin Police Report - 3/18/08

ASSAULT/AGGRAVATED: 1200 BLOCK OF E DENMAN AV. Complainant reported that he stopped at an apartment complex to check a noise coming from his car and was attacked from behind by a stranger who hit him twice with some type object that caused two deep lacerations to his head Tuesday morning. 

THEFT/C: 900 BLOCK OF S MEDFORD. Complainant reported that a juvenile male stole a 30 pack of beer from a convenience store Monday night.

DRUG ACTIVITY: 900 BLOCK OF ABNEY. A quantity of suspected illegal drug was found in a vehicle during a traffic stop Monday night.  No charges have been filed pending lab results on the liquid substance.

DUMPING ILLEGAL: 3000 BLOCK OF S JOHN REDDITT DR. Complainant reported illegal dumping in two commercial dumpsters.  Complainant had some names on items from the trash that was placed in the dumpster and the cardboard recycling dumpster along with a license plate number provided by a witness.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 500 BLOCK OF APRIL. Complainant reported that a vehicle had been driving recklessly in the street in front of her house and drove up into her yard, breaking a buried water line and cutting off water service to her house Sunday night.

THEFT/C: 4600 BLOCK OF S MEDFORD. Complainant reported that a juvenile male stole a Nike brand backpack from a store in the mall Monday afternoon.

BURGLARY/HABITATION: 100 BLOCK OF PEGGY. Complainant reported that her home was broken into Monday and some items moved around but nothing was noted missing at the time of the report.

THEFT: 2800 BLOCK OF S JOHN REDDITT D. Complainant reported that a business paid a down payment on having a sign made three months ago and the business that was to make the sign has not done so and has disconnected their business phone and won't return calls made to the cell phone for the owner.

THEFT/B: 200 BLOCK OF BOWLES ST. Complainant reported that two teenage males stole two bicycles from her back yard Monday afternoon.

THEFT/FELONY: 900 BLOCK OF N TIMBERLAND DR. Complainant reported that a known suspect had purchased a car two years ago and that the suspect paid for the car with a check written on a closed account.      

FRAUD: 1700 BLOCK OF W FRANK. Complainant reported that an unknown person is using her social security number to work at a poultry processing plant.

BURGLARY: 100 BLOCK OF KERR ST. Complainant reported that someone broke the window out of his car Sunday night and stole the stereo.

ASSAULT/A: 3000 BLOCK OF N MEDFORD DR. Complainant reported that her estranged husband tried to pull her out of her car before hitting her in the face during a disturbance Monday morning.  The complainant had visible redness and swelling on her face.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 3500 BLOCK OF N JOHN REDDITT D. Complainant reported that someone scratched lines in the side of her car with a sharp object sometime Monday morning.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 700 BLOCK OF CONN ST. Complainant reported that someone poured instant cocoa mix into the gas tank of her car Sunday night.

BURGLARY/BUILDING: 2300 BLOCK OF W FRANK AV. Complainant reported that several yard maintenance items were stolen from a storage building over the weekend.
