Sex Assault Trial Verdict

After four and half hours of deliberation, a jury of four women and 8 men found Frankie Jones of Lufkin guilty of 2 counts of indecency with a child and 1 count of aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was found not guilty on another count of aggravated sexual assault of a child. It's been a 2 year battle but the victims mother says she never lost hope. "I never stopped believing in the truth, the justice system. I'm just so glad this is over with. We got another monster off the streets and I'm just so glad."

Jones assaulted his wife's granddaughter who was 6 at the time. Jones's wife has defended his innocence for the last 2 years, and had to juggle that will her role as a grandmother. "I never took my kids out of my moms life. I just hate that she didn't believe my kids like everyone else did but they still love their grandmother. They still need their grandmother." After the verdict was read today, the victim's mother told us she thinks her mother has finally realized the evidence is undeniable. She just hopes Jones' punishment fits the crime. "I just hope that he gets off the streets before he gets to another kid. I hope he goes away for a long time." Now his future is in the hands of 12 jurors and the decision could come Thursday morning.
