Funeral services for Billie Gray, 75, of Lufkin will be held Monday, March 24, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Raymond G. Dunkin officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Gray was born April 26, 1932 in San Perlita, Texas to the late Bertha (Reoh) and Bill Hamilton, and died Friday, March 21, 2008 at her residence.
A former resident of Raymondville, Texas, Mrs. Gray had resided in Lufkin for seven years. She was a member of the Texas Homemakers from 1981 through 1994, and was the Texas Homemakers Woman of the Year in 1983. Mrs. Gray was also a past President of the Texas Homemakers, executive Vice-President of the Raymondville Chamber of Commerce, and lobbyist for Texas A&M. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Gray of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Jody and David Cox of Lufkin and Carey and Jon Hall of Nacogdoches; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Jimmie McCraw of Colmesneil; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mike McCraw, Tommy Raines, Spike McBride, Brett Billman, Jon Hall and Jon-Chris Hall.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
