Funeral services for Josh Ellis Duncan, 78, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Horace Fletcher officiating.
Mr. Duncan was born January 29, 1930 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Mellye (Nissen) and Josh Logan Duncan, and died Saturday, March 22, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Duncan was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He was a 1949 graduate of Lufkin High School, where he was known as a Lufkin Panther football player. He retired from Southland Paper Mill, where he was an instrument engineer.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Byron and Linda Duncan of Nacogdoches; daughter, Tamera Daniels of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Caron and Glenn Hornsby of Austin; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and cousins, Larrie Jean Arnold of Dallas and Gene Sullivan of Lufkin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Duncan's co-workers and retirees from the Southland Paper Mill.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
