Second Suspect Sought In Henderson Robbery

A Henderson armed-robbery suspect is behind bars but there is another still out there, and authorities have released new information they're hoping helps bring him in. It happened Monday  at the Gold Star finance company on highway 79 in Henderson.

"We do believe it was planned everything shows it was , it wasn't just some thing they came across and said lets do it" says Henderson police department lieutenant Craig Sweeney.

About 8:30 Monday morning two men rushed into Henderson's Gold Star finance company wearing hoods a showing guns.

"Both victims stated they were in fear of their life because they were bound up and made to lie on the floor and they had ever reason to believe in their minds that they were fixing to be hurt seriously" says Sweeney.

They took cash and credit cards and then tied up employees with duct tape. Both fled. One of the men was 23 year old Jamaal Kennedy from Nacogdoches. But police got a quick break in the case, only hours later Kennedy was back in Nacogdoches and using one of the stolen credit cards. Authorities say Kennedy was caught on tape using the card at a Nacogdoches convenience store. He was arrested and later found to be a student enrolled at Stephen F. Austin university and they say his accomplice is also a student there, identified as 20 year old Walter Chambliss.

"They are students at Stephen F. Austin, it doesn't make sense they're up here trying to better themselves I don't know what their field of study was, but if they're trying to better themselves they just messed themselves up" Sweeney says.

Chambliss currently has three warrants of arrest for aggravated robbery. Officials say they consider him armed and dangerous. Jamaal Kennedy is being held in the Rusk county jail on aggravated robbery charges.  Bob Hallmark  reporting/bhallmark@kltv.com
