Flooding Fatality

Clean up and assessment continue in San Augustine city and county tonight after yesterdays downpour. And one family is mourning the loss of a loved one.   The accident happened on a highway 21 bridge, almost 8 miles east of San Augustine. Forty three year old Wallace Williams of San Augustine County drowned. His father, a passenger, was rescued safe and sound.   Williams was attempting to cross high water. The car he was driving was swept into a ditch and sunk. Nine hours later the Nacogdoches Dive and Rescue team retrieved Williams' body. Funeral arrangements are pending. Contrary to earlier reports, there was not a fatality in Sabine County as a result of the storms.
