Lufkin Police Report - 4/2/08

BURGLARY/HABITATION: 200 BLOCK OF LEE. Complainant reported that he was awakened by two men trying to push in his front door around 2am Wednesday.  The suspects fled when the complainant got up and were not located.

ASSAULT/A: 1000 BLOCK OF O QUINN. Complainant reported that her estranged husband hit her several times with his hands during a disturbance just after midnight Wednesday.

ASSAULT/A: 1900 BLOCK OF FM 324. Complainant reported that her husband shoved a door into her during an argument Tuesday night, causing her pain.  No visible injuries.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 300 BLOCK OF MEDFORD. Complainant reported that a known suspect got mad at him and threw his backpack on the ground, breaking the cell phone that was in the backpack.

BURGLARY/HABITATION: 300 BLOCK OF ARENA ST. Complainant reported that a computer, digital video camera and a video game were stolen from his residence Tuesday.

THEFT/C: 1700 BLOCK OF DEANS WAY ST. Complainant reported that a woman was seen stealing some items from the store and was stopped outside.  The suspect returned a pair of shorts and a shirt but kept a pair of flip-flops and left with two other women.

ASSAULT/A: 600 BLOCK OF GROVE ST. Complainant reported that he was assaulted by a known suspect Tuesday afternoon.  Complainant had two small knots on his head and a scrape on his arm.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 2100 BLOCK OF NILE. A city water collections employee found where water service was being stolen at a residence.  The meter, removed for non-payment, had been bypassed with a pipe.

THEFT: 2200 BLOCK OF S FIRST ST. Complainant reported that numerous items of silver jewelry had been stolen from the store three days ago by a shoplifter.

THEFT: 1200 BLOCK OF COLLEGE. Complainant reported that an air conditioner had been stolen from a building during the past three days.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 200 BLOCK OF MONTROSE. A city water collections employee found where water service was being stolen at a residence.  The meter, removed for non-payment, had been bypassed with a pipe.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 1000 BLOCK OF TURNER ST. Complainant reported that a paycheck mailed to her former residence was forged and cashed by a known suspect.

THEFT/B: 300 BLOCK OF S MEDFORD. Complainant reported that her son took her cell phone to school last week and it was stolen from a locker in the athletics area. 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 4300 BLOCK OF S FIRST ST. Complainant reported that the outside mirror was broken off his truck while it was parked at a local hotel in mid-March.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 2200 BLOCK OF S FIRST ST. Complainant reported that her wallet was stolen from her workplace in early March and now a dozen checks have been forged on her account.

THEFT: 400 BLOCK OF CUNNINGHAM. Complainant reported that six oil paintings were stolen from storage at his residence sometime during the past ten months.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 600 BLOCK OF E LUFKIN AV. Complainant reported that a man was trying to register his vehicle and displayed what appeared to be a forged insurance card.  The insurance company needed time to verify whether the card was forged or not so the man was released pending further investigation.
