Jimmy Ronald “Jim” Morgan

Funeral services for Jimmy Ronald "Jim" Morgan, 63, of Groveton will be held Friday, April 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lester McAdams and Brother Lewis Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Nogalus Prairie.

Mr. Morgan was born May 21, 1944 in Jasper, Texas to the late Lorine (Henson) and Elton John Morgan, and died Monday, March 31, 2008 in Pasadena, Texas.

A former resident of Jasper and Pasadena, Mr. Morgan had resided in Groveton for three years. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired pipefitter from the Local 211 in Houston. Mr. Morgan was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Dustin Williams of Alvin; son, Christopher Morgan of Pasadena; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rhonda Horn of Tomball; granddaughter, Shea Lynn Williams of Alvin; grandsons, Garrett Wayne Williams of Alvin and Joseph Dewayne "JoJo" Horn of Tomball; the mother of daughter, Lynn and son, Chris, Patricia Sullivan and her husband, Bernie, who Jim considered a friend, of Pasadena; mother-in-law, Ella Wayne Faver of Groveton; brothers, Clyde Morgan of Jasper and Elton Kent Morgan of Brookeland; sisters, Francis Amanda Bussby of Jasper, Mildred Ann Wahatley of Pasadena, Bertie Lee Butler of Kirbyville, Wanda Gail Davidson of Houston, Karen Sue Key of Brookeland and Sarah Geneca Caffey of Brookeland.  

Pallbearers will be Terry Faver, Michael Faver, Kevin Williams, Kevin Bickerstaff, Chris Timmons, Doug Watson and Orva "Pete" Butler, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Faver and Joseph Dewayne "JoJo" Horn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
