Thelma "Fran" Metcalf, 68, of Zavalla, was born August 3, 1939, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of the late Thelma (Roach) and Henry S. May. She passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in a Lufkin hospital.
Mrs. Metcalf was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed visiting and being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Shady Chapel United Methodist Church in Zavalla.
Survivors include her husband, Walter B. Metcalf, Sr., of Zavalla; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Richard Hollingsworth of Huntington; daughter, Patricia Metcalf of Zavalla; son, Walter Metcalf, Jr., of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Janiece Metcalf of Zavalla; grandchildren, Jesse and Rachel Keller, Heather and Haley Hollingsworth, all of Huntington, Chase, Reece and Jaden Metcalf of Houston, and Garrett and Kendyl Metcalf of Zavalla; great grandchildren, Leah, Colby, Dalton and Kalli Keller of Zavalla; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Memorial services for Mrs. Metcalf will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008, in the Shady Chapel United Methodist Church in Zavalla with Reverend Martin Duran officiating.
