If you have a child heading off to college this fall, are they immunized against the deadly disease, meningitis? If not, the Angelina County and Cities Health District is offering help.
The Health District is offering vaccinations against bacterial meningitis for incoming college freshman.
Health officials say it's very important that students get the shot, because college students are at an increased risk of contracting the disease. It's estimated that between 100 and 125 cases of meningitis occur every year on college campuses.
