Funeral services for Betty Sue Flurry, 67, of Huntington will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Gary Forrest and Brother R.C. Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Treadwell Cemetery.

Mrs. Flurry was born October 2, 1940 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Mildred (Curry) and James Albert Stanbery, and died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in a local nursing home after a courageous battle with Alzheimers.

Mrs. Flurry was a lifetime resident of Huntington. She was a great hunter and fisherman. She loved working in her yard, reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. Mrs. Flurry was a member of the Highway Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Flurry of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Gary Forrest, Libby and Lewis Sapp and Bonnie and Randy Martin, all of Huntington; grandchildren and spouses, Robert and Michele Forrest, Jacob and Sarah Sapp, Amanda and Blake Powers, Jessica and Gary Litton, Zachary Sapp, Luke Martin and Grace Martin; great-granddaughter, Lexi Litton; great-grandchildren arriving in June, Cade Forrest and Rebekah Sapp; sister, Opal Ray of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Manell and Ross McClain of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Joyce Stanbery of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Linwood and Rita Flurry and Glenn and Paula Flurry, all of Huntington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Lovy Ellis; brothers, S.B., Otis and A.J. Stanbery; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marie and Wiley Flurry.

Pallbearers will be Robert Forrest, Jacob Sapp, Zachary Sapp, Luke Martin, Blake Powers and Gary Litton.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Lufkin.
