Noble Swor Keen

Noble Swor Keen, 91, of Lufkin, was born April 19, 1916, in Apple Springs, Texas, the daughter of the late Bennetta Miranda (Kerr) and Leon L. Swor. She passed away Monday, April 7, 2008, at her residence.

Mrs. Keen was a loving and devoted wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Browning Elementary PTA. She enjoyed working in her yard, a good bonfire and listening to music.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Troy Lee and Jeanette Keen of Terrill; daughter, Brenda Lorane Keen of Magnolia; sons, Gary Lynn Keen of Houston, Larry Glynn Keen of Magnolia and Dwight O'Neill Keen of Spring; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members.

Mrs. Keen was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Keen; grandson, Bruce Charles Thomas; and great-grandson, Walter Leon Keen.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Keen, Ross Schillaci, Zachariah Keen, Bryan Kruse, Joshua Keen, Christopher Ogden and Gary Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Keen, Charles Thomas and Danny Aldridge.

Services for Mrs. Keen will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4:00 p.m. Friday in the Homer Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
