Convicted Armed Robber Denied Re-trial

24-year-old convicted armed robber, Kris Sigler, was back in court on Thursday to file a motion for a new trial.

Sigler says he was not adequately represented in his first trial, where a jury sentenced him to 65 years in prison for robbing the Sav-A-Lot grocery store at gunpoint in April.

Sigler testified that his lawyer, Bill Agnew, made several mistakes including not filing a motion for evidence discovery and misconduct by a juror.

Agnew was able to provide evidence that he did file a motion for discovery. According to testimony, the juror accused of misconduct, was simply nodding during closing arguments. The motion was denied by District Judge Paul White.
