Experts say there's only one option left if you don't file your income tax returns by the deadline.
If you miss the deadline, you will have to request an extension from the IRS.
Once the extension is requested, you will have to submit a Form 4868. If you request an extension you must still pay whatever taxes you expect to owe when you submit your Form 4869.
"Sometimes I have people who come in the last day and say, 'Well, today is tax day! I'm going to file my return,' and they just think that the 15th is the last day and that they're going to do it," Deborah Hill of Compro Tax told us.
