Russell Harry Gauman
Russell Harry Gauman, 63, of Huntington, was born April 13, 1945, in Akron Ohio. He passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in a local hospice facility.
Russell was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and was employed as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and reading his Bible, and was a talented craftsman. He served his country in the United States Navy, and was a member of Shawnee Church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Gauman of Huntington; son, Russell Harry Gauman II of Ohio; daughters, Melodey Shepherd of Lufkin and Michele Phillips of Huntington; son, Coy Baggett of Lumberton; sisters, Sis Fletcher and Susie Gauman, both of Ohio; brother, Denny Gauman of Austin; 13 grandchildren; and a number of other family members.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine (Lizey) and Claire Gauman; a brother; and a sister.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Carlton Lewis, Hospice in the Pines and Home Care Network for the care shown to Russell during his illness.
Russell's wishes were to have his body donated to science in hopes to find a cure for his ailments.
Memorial services for Russell will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Coy Baggett and Bro. Keith Rose officiating.
