SFA Tuition Hike

Tuition, this fall, is going up at Stephen F Austin State University so professors and staff can receive a raise.   All but one regent voted for the measure. Tuition will increase nine dollars per semester hour. This creates a 3-percent merit pool for faculty and staff pay.

SFA student body president Kent Willis commended the board,   "That you willingly put yourself in an uncomfortable position to discuss, debate these issues and not only consider the faculty's perspective and what they need, but you also diligently and compassionately considered the position that students are being put in. "

Room and board rates will also be going up. The change will go into effect in the fall. In the area of fees some went up, some went down and others eliminated all together. On line students no longer have to pay student center or recreation center fees.
