Low interest disaster loans are now available for San Augustine County and the five counties it borders. Tuesday the Small Business Administration opened its doors to take applications from residents and business owners. The money will help them recover from the damaging floods that swept through homes and stores on March 30th.
Small Business Administration spokesman, Gary Colton said, " What the disaster declaration provides is up to $200,000 in loan availability for homeowners to repair or replace their home, up to $40,000 for homeowners and renters to repair and replace damaged personal property, including a car if necessary. And up to 1.5 million for businesses and private non profit organizations to repair and replace their building, their equipment, inventory, whatever was damaged or lost in the storm."
The Disaster Loan Outreach Center is located in the San Augustine City Hall. Representatives will be there until May 8th.
