C B Arlon Harris, 77, of Lufkin, was born April 11, 1931, in Saron, Texas, the son of the late Isabel (Hollingsworth) and Caspar Andrew Harris. He passed away Thursday, April 24, 2008, in a local hospital.
Mr. Harris was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and son. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, singing, playing the guitar and spending time with his family. He was retired from Southland Paper Mill. Mr. Harris was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Diboll.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Laurice Murlene Harris of Lufkin; sons, Raymond Arlon Harris of Montgomery and Robert Andrew Harris of Lufkin; daughter, Melisa Darlene Gallman of Lufkin; grandchildren, Jenifer Allbright and husband Jody, Cody Harris and wife Laura, Jason Harris and wife Keisha, Trey Harris and wife Lacy, Joshua Harris and Andrew Gallman; great-grandchildren, Kelsie Allbright, Madison Allbright, Ty Allbright, Caden Harris and Calli Childers; sisters, Zula Smith, Opal Day, Ola Ross, Vernell Havard and husband Charles; and a number of other family members.
Pallbearers will be Trey Harris, Joshua Harris, Jason Harris, Cody Harris, Jody Allbright and Jeff Shives.
Honorary pallbearer will be Andrew Gallman.
Services for Mr. Harris will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Elzine Strong officiating. Interment will follow in the Emporia Cemetery in Diboll.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
