Big Fans

The Lufkin Expo Center is a cooler place to be thanks to some extra big fans.

A dozen oversized fans line the expo center ceiling and are keeping rodeo goers more comfortable as outside temperatures rise. They installed the fans back in August and they admit the catchy name drew them in but it's what the fans will do that makes them worth the thousands of dollars.

"It makes it feel 10 to 15 degrees cooler than it is. It's like sitting under a shade tree," said Glenn Sullivan, Expo Center Manager.

The fans were purchased through a grant from the t-l temple and kurth foundations.
