Tomma Dean Loftin Murphy
Tomma Dean Loftin Murphy, 78, of Lufkin, was born April 26, 1930, in Lufkin, Texas, and she passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Murphy retired from Regions Bank after forty-one years of service. Before her retirement, she was vice president in charge of the credit department. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved to travel. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Fate Murphy of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Will Rodriguez of Lufkin; sister, Evelyn (Judy) Smith of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Frankie and Larry Karrh of Lufkin; brother-in-law and his wife, Jack and Kathie Stevens of Evergreen, Colorado; nephews, Kenneth Pieper of Evergreen, Colorado, Charles Loftin, Don Beaty, Jim Smith and Michael Murphy, all of Lufkin, and Tom Smith of Montrose, Colorado; niece, Lauren Strock of Lufkin; a number of great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tinker, Peaches and Clementine.
Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucile Loftin; brothers, Winford and Gene; and sisters, Kathleen, Charlene and Sue Frances.
Pallbearers will be Curt Strock, Charlie Loftin, Travis Strock, Calvin Murphy, Jim Smith and Jack Smith.

Mrs. Murphy's family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Memorial Specialty Hospital for the love and care shown to their loved one.
Services for Mrs. Murphy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Reverend Trey Ainsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
