Robert A. LaRoche, Sr.
Robert A. LaRoche, Sr., 62, of Lufkin, was born July 11, 1945, in Royalston, Massachusetts, and he passed away Monday, April 28, 2008, in a local hospital.
Mr. LaRoche was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was employed for Texas Metal Casting for more than 20 years. He served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967. Mr. LaRoche was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Yvonne C. LaRoche; son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. II and Paulette LaRoche; daughter, Elaine C. Garcia; daughter and son-in-law, Cari A. and Jimmie R. Laningham; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brothers, Roger, Paul, James, and Thomas; sisters, Nancy Kendall and Luann Simula; and a number of other family members.
In addition to his parents, Mr. LaRoche was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Parker; and brothers, Stephen, David and William.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Father William J. Slight, M.S. officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
