Royce Marquis "Mark" Treadaway
Royce Marquis "Mark" Treadaway, 70, of Rocky Hill Community, was born January 9, 1938, in the Rocky Hill Community, and passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in a local hospital.
Mr. Treadaway was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and was a self-employed logger. He loved fishing and was known as "Mr. Fishman". He was also an avid squirrel hunter, and loved his chickens. He served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Treadaway was a member of Eastview Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Royce Wayne and Denise Treadaway of Huntington, Ronald Mark and Kay Treadaway of Huntington, and Richard (Ricky) Lynn and Sharon Treadaway of Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Brian Williams of Huntington; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Glenn and Bertie Treadaway of Lubbock; special friends, Billy and Sue Shuffield; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a host of friends.
Mr. Treadaway was preceded in death by his parents, Lula Mae (Curbow) and Tine Treadaway; grandson, Kevin McFarland; and brothers, Kenneth (Poodle) Treadaway and Chester Treadaway.
Pallbearers will be David Treadaway, Tommy Treadaway, Scott Treadaway, Billy Page, Zac Treadaway and Gary McFarland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Brock, Verbal Morehead, Dustin Treadaway and Michael Davis.
Services for Mr. Treadaway will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, in the Salem Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Brian Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Oddfellow Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday day evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
