A Nacogdoches teenager died this morning, 2 days after she was involved in a car accident in Shelby County. According to DPS Danyelle Smith, who was 19 was riding in a car that was headed north on highway 96 just north of Center. The vehicle she was in left the roadway and struck the guardrail the car then went airborne and smashed into a tree. Smith was transported to ETMC in Tyler and died this morning. The driver, Dustin Cooper, 23 from Center was taken to Nacogdoches Memorial with minor head and leg injuries.
