Weather Alerts

When our meteorologists interrupt programming for a weather warning, boy do I hear about it.  Cut into a soap opera and our phones light up.  Interrupt an episode of Lost and I get angry emails.

This is the time of year when strong storms roll through our Deep East Texas area.  During the last few weeks, severe weather, including tornados have rolled through at various times through the day and night.  Tornado watches and warnings have been posted for nearly every county served by KTRE.

Quite often, a storm impacts people in one part of our viewing area and not another. If you're not in the path of the storm, you probably want to watch your regular programming.  However, for those people in the path of the storm, our weather warnings are quite possibly life saving.

Consider This...Interrupting programming is not something we take lightly.  It's not something we want to do, but it's something we have a responsibility to do and we are committed to do.

The next time a dangerous storm is bearing down on your house and family, please know you can count on KTRE to be there to warn you in advance.

Thank you for your understanding.
